President Monson used this quote in his talk on Sunday. I have been waiting all week for the transcripts to be available so I could get the exact quote to share. He quoted Sarah Ban Breathnach, in John Cook, comp., The Book of Positive Quotations, 2nd ed. (2007), 342:
“Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously
in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious
choice which secret garden we will tend*.*.*.*when we choose
not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful
for the abundance that’s present—love, health, family, friends,
work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us
[happiness]—the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience
heaven on earth.”
I love that quote! It fits perfectly with the Law of Polarity! Abundance and lack of abundance both exist, and we decide which one we will experience! If we want to experience abundance, then we must exercise gratitude!
PS – The talk was called “Finding Joy in the Journey” and the talk in its entirety can be found here: http://www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-947-26,00.html
