You Were Born Rich

"What's this all about, and why should I study it?"

Great question! ... Let me 'splain.

When my husband and I married, we were broke but spent the next seven years deeply immersed in personal development. We believed there had to be a better way than trading hours for dollars, which was never enough, and we believed God wanted us to discover that better way.

But despite attending over 100 seminars looking for the "key", we weren’t seeing results. Everyone else seemed to be figuring it out—while we continued to struggle. Disappointment after disappointment, and setback after setback only left us exhausted, discouraged, and (I, at least), clinically depressed.

When another big seminar came along—this time in Ogden, Utah—I knew deep down that I had to be there, but I didn't want to go. Eventually I told my husband, “I’ll go to this one last event. But if something big doesn’t shift for good, I’m done. I can’t keep riding this rollercoaster of hoping and being disappointed again and again.”

That weekend, the guest speaker was Bob Proctor. But I was so emotionally drained and focused on the sacrifices we had made to get there, that I didn't really pay attention to his presentation.

But then I noticed something different about this event. When he finished speaking, the energy in the room was electric—people were in awe. I turned to my husband and said, “Um... What did he say?” He stuttered, frustrated, “Uh - um - there's no way I can tell you what he just spent two hours explaining.”

I was devastated. This was going to be my last event, and I missed it! Weeks later, people were still talking about the event, which I had never seen happen before in the seven years prior.

Then a few months later, the company who hosted Bob Proctor did something they’d never done before—they brought him back. No speaker in all those years had ever been invited twice. But this time, they didn't just give him 2 hours, they gave him the entire weekend.

So I agreed to attend just ONE MORE.

We made sure to sit on the front row. We leaned forward, ready to catch it all, and took copious notes. We were determined NOT to miss a thing. And halfway through, it clicked. Everything we’d been trying to understand for years made sense in an instant.

We looked at each other with our mouths gaping open and said, “That’s it? That’s all it is?”

Then within three months of applying what we had learned, we tripled our income. That was the catalyst when everything changed—the reason I do what I do now, even twenty five years later.

The seminar he taught that changed our lives was called You Were Born Rich.

So... When the money started growing faster than we were spending it (for the first time in our marriage), we hired Bob Proctor to be our personal mentor for a year, and I trained with his company to become one of his program facilitators.

Oh my goodness, that was so long ago!! But it all created such a seismic shift, we've never been the same.

Since that shift, I've written 3 best-sellers of my own, coined the term Rare Faith (based on a quote by Boyd K. Packer about the divinely appointed use of the kind of faith that causes things to happen), created the School of Life Mastery with my husband, and filled it with over 24 related, faith-based courses.
